Senior Hardware Engineer

My client is looking for an experienced Hardware Engineer to join their exciting company. The role would be suited to an individual with a minimum of 2 years’ computer or Hardware experience, showing technical competence in general hardware and operating systems.

The role would be varied and will require the successful applicant to spend their working week between fulfilling new orders, stock management, machine repairs, carrying out on-site warranties and supporting customers over the phone and occasionally face-to-face with full EPoS installations.

Key Responsibilities

• Carrying out fault-finding on EPoS equipment and peripherals
• First-line technical support to customers, via phone, email, and online system
• Testing of the equipment and completing configurations/builds.
• Diagnosing and resolving faults remotely
• Keeping up to date with the latest technologies
• On occasions, you will be expected to carry out onsite repairs for customers
• Stock management and distribution around the warehouse 

Essential Skills

• Experience with Microsoft operating systems and installation
• Experience using Sage 200 is desirable but not essential
• Experience using Microsoft Office systems
• Previous experience with fault finding on hardware equipment and peripherals
• Good telephone manners and ability to talk with customers in a technical and non-technical manner
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment
• The ability to be proactive, able to prioritise, and problem-solve while working alone and as part of a growing team is essential.
• Full clean driving license
